ALUEN

It is a family-run company located in Mechongué, a small rural village on the Argentine Atlantic coast. The activity takes place in a temperate oceanic climate, characterized by moderate temperatures, humidity, and frequent winds, with seasonal variations where summers are hot and winters are cold and harsh. For this reason, our queens are perfectly adaptable to any climate.

The blooms of the hills and the coast, where the hives are located, are rich in laurel, mimosa, rapeseed, willow, fruit trees, white acacia, clovers, alfalfa, lotus, melilot, thistles, burdocks, eucalyptus, broom, and the season culminates with sunflower.

In accordance with current regulations, the breeding center carries out all sanitary controls, complying with the legal requirements necessary to access international markets.

The Doolittle System is used. The process begins with starter hives, and in the second stage of production it moves to finisher hives, which are kept in greenhouses with controlled temperature due to low nighttime temperatures.

The mating of queens is carried out naturally, in areas specially prepared to ensure a high concentration of selected drones. To achieve this, hives with the desired characteristics are provided.

For mating, up to six mating yards are used, with approximately 1,500 mating nuclei —including baby and standard nuclei. The queen production season runs from December through May.
