Reinas de Cuyo Queen Breeding Farm

The breeding farm is located in the department of San Rafael, province of Mendoza, Argentina. This location offers a rich floral environment provided by fruit orchards such as plum, apricot, peach, and almond trees, among others, which are irrigated with water from the Diamante River.

The farm manages around 3,000 hives that, in addition to supporting the breeding operation, produce honey, pollen, wax, and propolis.

The queens intended for honey production are bred using the Doolittle technique.

Between September and May, more than 20,000 mated queens are produced under strict sanitary control, as a large portion of the production is certified for export.

For several years, the farm has also been working on the production of F0 breeder queens artificially inseminated.

The genetic lines developed are Buckfast and Ligustica (Cordovan).
